In 1988, St. Andrew’s started a volunteer tutoring program that has evolved into a community-wide effort, expanding dramatically to serve hundreds of primary school students and become one of the church’s most significant legacies. The Center recruits volunteers and provides them with training, teaching materials, and on-going guidance and support. Throughout the school year these volunteers contribute substantially to the lives of local children, tutoring them one-on-one in reading, writing, and math. As they meet twice a week, October through March, participants develop meaningful relationships that benefit all.
