The Native American population continues to be the hardest hit demographic for Coronavirus in Arizona and one of the worst in the U.S. Under control of the federal government, infrastructure on the reservation is meager. Lack of water and poor healthcare services fuel the virus, exacerbated by residents’ mandated quarantine with limited access to food, gasoline, and employment.
St. Andrew’s has already donated truckloads of bottled water, bleach, and food. Monetary contributions from parishioners and friends enabled us to purchase dried beans, canned meat, fruit and vegetables, as well as cleaning and paper supplies. Families have made masks. However, the need continues. Please contact St. Andrew’s if you want to drop off goods or funds: 928-282-4457, firstname.lastname@example.org.
