Swami Chidatmananda, Teacher-in-Charge of Chinmaya Mission in Hyderabad, India, will share his thoughts on “The Real Teacher” at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church on Friday, May 31. The free program begins at 6:00pm in the church sanctuary at 100 Arroyo Piñon Drive in West Sedona. For more information, email email@example.com or call 928-282-4457.
Swami Chidatmananda is a Hindu teacher who emphasizes the one-ness of all beings. His talk will address questions related to authentic spiritual teachers. According to St. Andrew’s’ rector, Rev. Monica Whitaker, “we are blessed to engage with religious leaders of other faith traditions and honor the interconnectedness of our sacred pathways.”
The Swami originally studied law, but turned to spiritual service in 1989. He appears frequently on Indian television and conducts retreats and seminars for government organizations, management schools, and medical clinics. His visit to the Verde Valley is part of a US tour including California, Texas, and New Jersey.
Fran Grace, professor of religious studies at the University of the Redlands CA, will introduce the Swami, who is featured in her 2018 book The Power of Love: A Transformed Heart Changes the World. On the following day, June 1, Susan Hawkins will host the annual gathering in memory of her husband and spiritual teacher, Dr. David R. Hawkins, at the Sedona Creative Life Center.
