Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)
Sunday, October 29, 2017 @ 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Día de los Muertos is a traditional Mexican celebration with family and friends to honor those who have died, and to pray for their support on our spiritual journeys. This annual festival is held close to November 1, when the church observes All Saints’/All Souls’ Day. Participants often create colorful papel picado and cempasúchil (tissue paper banners and flowers), and calveras (sugar skulls) to decorate ofrendas (private altars) to commemorate the dead.
Bring friends and family for a potluck dinner; procession, prayers and singing in the church; face painting, crafts, and games for children; live music and dancing!
