Concert of Gratitude – Elizabeth Ursic
Friday, October 25, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Elizabeth Ursic, former resident, will return to Sedona on October 25 for a debut concert of her new CD, Gratitude. Ursic is a composer, cellist and pianist whose works have been performed internationally, including England, Mexico, and China. She will be joined in concert by Jesse Kalu, a local native flute player who crafts flutes from bamboo growing in Sedona. The concert is a fundraiser to support the ministries of St. Andrew’s.
Gratitude reflects Ursic’s life and musical journey since her days in Sedona, and she credits much of the artistic success of her career with the years she lived locally in the 1990s. “I arrived in Sedona as a classically trained musician, but soon found myself playing with world musicians who introduced me to different music styles, rhythms, and modes. During this time my compositional work began to be inspired as much by nature as it was at my keyboard. An organic freedom entered my composing during that time, and it has never left.”
Gratitude expands on her earlier recordings with a range of sacred music styles and instruments including Celtic harp, didgeridoo, tabla, native flute, cello, piano, silver flute and violin. It also includes selections from commissions composed for the documentary Forging Voice, an international art exhibit titled Dancing with Gaia, and a world anthem for the global World Academy for the Future of Women.
The Concert of Gratitude takes place on Friday, October 25 and begins at 7:00pm. Purchase tickets in advance for $18 online at
